The new Audi Q7 offers plenty of technological advances to lure even the biggest tech geeks.
The second generation of the Audi Q7 comes with a fascinating drive system, suspension system, assistance systems, infotainment and connectivity with innovative technology. But what the advance flight enthusiasts will find most exciting is obvious: The Audi virtual cockpit.
Playing on the idea of an airplane cockpit, the virtual cockpit is an optional add-on that merges seamlessly with the optional MMI navigation plus with MMI all-in-touch. The 12.3-inch TFT screen has a resolution of 1,440 x 540 pixels and displays razor-sharp and fascinatingly detailed images. For a real cockpit feel, the needle of the rev counter is recalculated 60 times per second, making it absolutely fluid in operation.
As a driver, you can switch between two different user interfaces. In “infotainment” mode, for example, a central window dominates the view for lists in the phone, radio and audio areas, and the tachometer and speedometer are displayed as small dial instruments on the right and left. In the classical view, the central window is smaller and the instruments appear about as large as analog displays.
You can operate the Audi virtual cockpit just like the driver information display in the analog instrument cluster, by means of the multi-function steering wheel.
