The demands of the holidays can be stressful, even in the beauty of the tropics. Whether you’re a local prepping festivities and feasts, or on vacation and consumed with trying to corral your crew — plus keep them on schedule and entertained — sometimes you need a holiday from the holidays.
With all the added stresses this time of year, it’s crucial to carve out time for rest and renewal; and there are plenty of soulful spaces on the Islands to help you keep the season centred, like the Body Works day spa and yoga studio. The facility offers a variety of meditative classes, beauty treatments and massages — including reiki, prenatal massage and reflexology — and focuses on providing guests with natural wellness and sustainable products.
If inspiration off the mat is more your style, try tai chi. The ancient Chinese practice, which originally served as a martial art, is comprised of fluid, slow movements and calming breathing techniques. It is often called “meditation in motion.” The practice has been gaining momentum in the international world of wellness and is helpful in building muscle strength and flexibility. The Cayman Associated School of Karate (CASK) offers tai chi classes for participants ages 16 and up and holds public tai chi at Camana Bay on the first Sunday of every month.
For beginner and seasoned yogis alike, Bliss Living and Yoga Studio offers a variety of classes in a beautiful, airy facility, including hot yoga, kundalini and vinyasa. For those wanting to incorporate the Islands’ natural environment into their sessions, group beach classes are also available. Participants are welcome to choose their own location or join the studio at a preselected location along Seven Mile Beach.
The whole family can take part in a stress-free holiday season, too. The mobile yoga studio, Yoga Sprouts, offers yoga classes for infants as young as three months old and to children up to age 8, focusing on workshops and activities designed to improve balance and coordination, as well as enhance social and emotional connections. It’s a prime opportunity to connect with your little ones amidst all the holiday hustle and bustle, whilst empowering them with valuable skills in focus and meditation.
We’re focused on keeping you and your family’s travels as stress-free and seamless as possible. With quality leather seats, more legroom in the skies than any other airline flying to Cayman and the exceptional customer service we pride ourselves in, the members of our staff are committed to ensuring your flight leaves you relaxed and at ease, before your feet even touch the sand.
